This mare was a premium foal and mare at her inspections. She was ridden and shown for only a short time in 1997. She has been a broodmare since 1998 and has had four foals, Roman Candle, Aladdin, Ariel, and Apollo. She is presently open and will be started back in training after her latest foal is weaned. She has always been a safe ride and physically fit.
The sire of this mare, Bonjour, was an improvement sire for the Hanoverians before he was imported to the United States. According to the USDF 2000 Stallion Stats, Bonjour, has sired five Horse of the Year horses. The best known of his progeny is Beaurivage ridden by Debbie McDonald. This pair was the second ranked horse and rider in the USDF Horse of the Year awards for Grand Prix.
Bon Temps Roulez’s dam, Walküre, competed in dressage up to Prix St. George. Her pedigree includes some of the most famous sires in German breeding history, Ferdinand via Wendekreis and Der Löwe via Lugano II.
