Roman Candle has excellent bloodlines from his dam and sire. According to the USDF 2000 Stallion Stats, Romiro, has sired five USDF Horse of the Year horses and competed in dressage at the Pan Am games. His grandsire is the famous Westphalian sire Romadour II who sired many great competition horses including the two time Olympic Gold Medalist, Rembrandt ridden by Nicole Uphoff and the stallion Rosenkavalier. It is through Rosenkavalier that the great “R” line tradition continues with the late Rubenstein I and his many sons.

His dam, Bon Temps Roulez, was both a premium foal and premium mare at her inspections. Her sire, Bonjour, was an improvement sire for the Hanoverians before moving to the United States and has sired five USDF Horse of the Year horses. Bon Temps Roulez bloodlines includes of the great Hanoverian sires, Der Löwe via Lombard and Ferdinand via Wenderkreis.

He has tons of personality which translates to presence under saddle. In 2000 his median score at Training Level dressage was 62%. He has started showing at 1st Level in 2002.

2003 Update

In 2003 we have upgraded Roman’s training. Andrea and Roman have gone to clinics with Scott Hassler and George Williams in preparation of showing him at 2nd Level.

Well he finally can do flying changes. Next time he goes out he will be shown at 3rd level.
